Welcome to the official webpage for the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital.
Thank you for your interest in our program, where we are deeply committed to excellence in clinical training, academic inquiry, and compassionate, patient-centered care.
The HCA Orange Park Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship is a three-year, ACGME-accredited academic training program. Fellows train primarily at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital, along with
two large outpatient clinical sites serving Duval and Clay Counties. HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital is a 365-bed tertiary care center in Clay County, formerly known as Orange Park Medical Center (OPMC), and serves as the primary referral hospital for much of North Florida’s Clay County population. Fellows are mentored by a diverse group of experienced faculty and gain broad exposure through outpatient practice settings within the First Coast Cardiovascular Institute serving both Duval and Clay Counties. Second- and third-year fellows are offered

opportunities for external electives in heart failure and transplant, electrophysiology, and advanced cardiac imaging at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. These experiences are designed to further enhance advanced training and support fellows’ long-term academic and career objectives.
Our trainees benefit from high-volume, diverse clinical exposure, and close faculty engagement, without the intimidation or hierarchy that can stifle learning. Questions are encouraged, innovation is celebrated, and education is tailored to help each fellow reach their full potential—both as a cardiologist and as a leader. We place a strong emphasis on education, research, and professional growth. Our faculty are deeply invested in teaching and mentorship, and our fellows are encouraged to pursue scholarly activity aligned with their interests—whether in clinical investigation, outcomes research, education, or quality improvement.
Equally important, we strive to foster a supportive and inclusive culture that values teamwork, wellness, and mutual respect. We believe that excellence in cardiovascular care begins with caring for one another. We take pride in cultivating a community that is collegial, intellectually vibrant, and genuinely enjoyable.
If you are seeking a fellowship that combines top-tier academic training with a relaxed, respectful, and motivating culture, we are excited to welcome you.
